THE MODELS

More than forty wonderful friends volunteered their time to model for the pictures in this book. In case you should happen to meet one of these friends, I really owe them a word or two of explanation:

The top-hatted traveling salesman is as trustworthy a person as you could hope to meet! He’s a church leader in Britain and has a Ph.D. from St. Andrews University in Scotland.

The king is a seminary professor in Russia and Czechoslovakia, who truly exemplifies what it means to be a serving friend.

Saul on the Damascus road is an anesthesiologist, who would be happy to meet Christ on any road.

The false prophet is a trusted dentist, who would never think of misleading anyone.

The worried patient already knows what will happen to those who refuse their medicine. So does her surgeon husband, who modeled Moses.

The forgiving Jesus on the cross is a highly-respected attorney.

No one took his modeling more seriously than Brad, the boy admiring his older brother.

Other models included a radiologist, a school counselor, a teacher, and a doctor of preventive medicine. And many were students—from first grade through medical school—including three of my grandchildren.

Four pictures were painted from our video documentary about Christianity in Britain, One of the Lads.

Incidentally, the butler is the author—trying to look like a faithful servant.
